You have a desire to start eating healthier, start a business, maybe even volunteer for your local non profit. But eventually excuses start to pile up in your head. Life happens. We make excuses and find reasons to push it off or limit how much effort we put forth. We have all been there.

Humans love comfort. We crave the stuff that comes easy. While the accomplishments are fun, what makes them worth it, is the work that went into achieving them.

If we want to live a purposeful life, this has to stop. The standards we set for ourselves will reflect the work we produce. Marcus Aurelius summed it up elegantly, “Be tolerant with others and strict with yourself.” Let's strive to set our standards high and continue to create a culture of excellence.
